A 3-hour personal development workshop open to all in a convivial and playful environment.

Ideal to plan the year ahead and create new connections.

A great way to start the year!

Aim:

To take time for ourselves, assess where we are in our life right now and define what it will take to make 2010 a full, happy and successful year.

Why are New Year’s resolutions hard to keep?

One of the biggest raisons for failing to keep our resolutions is… the way we set them! Consider these classic examples: Lose 10 pounds, Make more money, Find a better job, Find my soul mate, Quit smoking…”

Most of the resolutions in our heads may be (unconsciously of course!) about not repeating a failure that we have already experienced; or, about the reflection of what others or society would like us to be, or the affirmation of negative feelings we have for ourselves or our lives…

Avoiding past failures, quitting, making excuses and blame are the worse motivators you can find, so no surprise that resolutions based on these will be wiped out of our mind and our life within the first few days of their short life. Habits and routines that we have carefully build up for years will resume their place and we will be back to square one in the blink of an eye without even realising it… except maybe next year, at the same time.

What will be different with this workshop?

New Year is the only celebration that marks the passing of time. Therefore it is a great opportunity to review what we have achieved so far and clarify our life’s goals or make the necessary adjustment. That’s why New Year’s Resolutions have been popular for centuries in many civilisations! It’s all about taking control of our lives rather than letting things to chance, hoping for the best!

By experience we know that the journey to achieve our goals is as rewarding and as important as the goals themselves. This journey is what makes us who we are. That’s our path to growth and development and …ultimately  happiness. So, what we will be doing differently is to look closely at the question: “Who we are and who we want to Be (-come?)” rather than exclusively at the “What we want to Do or Have” (although we will look at that as well, as specific actions and goals are the fuel necessary for our journey).

So at the end of the workshop, you will leave with a clearer idea about where you are now, who you really want to be, what you want next and what will help you stretch towards it. Then, you will have the tools and the motivation to set the necessary process in motion, with the extra bonus of a structure for accountability and support.

Never been to a workshop before? What to expect:

Each workshop will cater for small groups of individuals coming from various backgrounds but all committed to make change happen now.

There will be interactive presentations on key topics, individual reflection work and group exchanges. Everyone will be able to share in their own way, at their own pace, under their own terms.

By registering, each participant commits to remain non-judgmental and supportive to the others and accept to adhere to our confidentiality clause (information shared by the participants will remain confidential and will not be disclosed outside this workshop).

Although we will dig deep into our lives to find what is really important for us, the motto for the workshop will remain conviviality, playfulness and connection. A great place to start the year!

Will I need extra help?

Well, this workshop is a standalone, so you will leave with a strong base to work from on your own. Other monthly workshops are available during the year to re-enforce this ground work, explore other areas of personal development and discover extra tools. You are as well welcome to join any session of our Life Clubs in Hammersmith when you feel the need to top up your commitment (£15/session).

One to One sessions are available for those who want to create change faster or need individual support.
